Store Manager

Beyond Retail is an award-winning multi-website online retailer offering bathroom, kitchen and heating products to Britain’s homeowners and tradespeople. We’re almost 15 years old now, and in that time, we’ve accelerated from zero to £50m/year revenue, won local and national awards, and grown to 150-plus people. Our three websites - Drench, Tap Warehouse and Only Radiators - are growing from strength to strength, and we’re looking for a motivated Store Manager to join the team.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Drench Outlet as a dynamic Store Manager, a pivotal role in driving our retail success. As a Store Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of our outlet, ensure an exceptional customer experience, and lead a high-performing team.

This is a hands-on role where you will balance selling on the shop floor, converting retail customers & maximising clearance sales, with managing the operational and people aspects of the Outlet.

Your performance will be measured and rewarded based on the overall success of the Outlet, ensuring your focus is on:

  • Growing retail & clearance sales through personal contribution.
  • Managing the LTAM in driving trade customers' growth.
  • Maintaining high operational standards through the Stock & Support Specialist.
  • Protecting profitability as well as sales growth.

Working Days: Monday to Saturday (5 days per week, including Saturdays)
Working Hours: Shifts between 7 am and 6 pm to cover the Outlet's opening hours

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Sales & Customer Experience

  • Lead the Outlet in achieving monthly revenue and margin targets, with personal accountability for retail and clearance sales.
  • Act as the primary contact for walk-in retail customers, providing expert product advice and tailored recommendations.
  • Take ownership of daily/weekly trading, including promotions and conversion.
  • Deliver a consistently excellent customer experience.

Team & Line Management

  • Provide effective operational line management ensuring 100% shift coverage and efficient team deployment across the week.
  • Lead and motivate the team to foster a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Lead by example on the shop floor while providing coaching to result in measurable improvements in individual conversion rates.
  • Conduct 1:1s and monthly performance reviews for all direct reports,dealing appropriately with all performance issues.

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure 100% compliance with opening/closing checklists and daily reporting requirements.
  • Oversee clearance pricing and margin protection, ensuring products move efficiently without compromising profitability.
  • Maintain operational excellence, ensuring the Outlet is consistently customer-ready, compliant, and efficient.

Collaboration & Growth

  • Actively support LTAM in achieving local trade targets.
  • Manage the Stock & Sales Support Specialist to ensure optimal stock presentation and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate on local marketing, promotions, and Outlet events, as well as the outlet's continued overall future growth.

  • Operational Organisation: Skilled in managing daily routines, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and readiness.
  • Adaptability: Capable of balancing sales, leadership, and operational demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • KBB Knowledge: In-depth understanding of bathroom, kitchen, and heating products is essential. The role requires genuine product knowledge to drive conversions and deliver commercial success
