We're Hiring

Product Content Lead

Beyond Retail is an award-winning multi-website online retailer offering bathroom, kitchen and heating products to Britain’s homeowners and tradespeople. Over 8 million people visit our websites each year, and we’re on a mission to help create well-designed homes that look great, feel special, and positively impact people's everyday lives.

We’re almost 15 years old now, and in that time, we’ve accelerated from zero to £50m/year revenue, won local and national awards, and grown to 150-plus people. Our three websites - Drench, Tap Warehouse and Only Radiators - are growing from strength to strength.

What you’ll be doing:

Without a physical showroom for customers to touch and feel our products, we need to work twice as hard to showcase our products whilst giving our customers the confidence to purchase our carefully curated products.

Our Product Content Lead will be responsible for developing, growing and owning our onsite product content in the form of written product descriptions and key features, alongside editing and resizing imagery for our upcoming new product launches. You will also be responsible for identifying further written copy enhancements for existing products.

  • Working with our internal product teams (buying and ecommerce merchandising) and our suppliers to understand what’s important about our products to be able to translate this into engaging written content.
  • Harnessing AI and technology to create customer-focused, feature-rich written content for our new product launches
  • Optimising our written content for our existing products to improve conversion rates
  • Spotting opportunities to improve product content across our three sites
  • Driving forward projects that will improve our imagery and product content process
  • Researching products and competitors to ensure accurate and differentiated content
  • Taking into account SEO considerations to improve search visibility and conversions
  • Use analytics and feedback to improve and refine product copy over time
  • Ensure content is technically correct, compliant, and aligned with the company voice

Who we’re after:

This is a multi-faceted role, so we’re after someone with stellar organisation skills, a creative eye, an impressive level of attention to detail, and top-notch writing skills. You’ll have a passion for products and customers by making sure our product content is developed with them in mind. You’ll have demonstrable experience of working in a similar role in a fast-paced environment where you’ve had to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You’ll be confident at using Photoshop and ideally will have previous experience of using spreadsheets/Google Sheets.

What we can offer you:

  • Flexible working hours — we work 40 hours per week, typically starting and finishing between 8 am and 6:30 pm Monday to Friday
  • Generous annual leave
  • All the tech you need + remote working budget for setting up your home office
  • A fantastic office, or the flexibility to work at home
  • A company-wide commitment to learning and development
  • A friendly, customer-focused environment built on teamwork, collaboration, ownership, and transparency
  • Team and company-wide social events
  • No corporate dress code

Our Values

Everything we do is shaped by our ten core values. These inform the foundations of our relationships with customers and each other, but they also shape how we measure and reward our colleagues' performance. Simply put, success is not about who you are or how loud you shout, but about the impact you make and what you do. We encourage doing rather than dreaming – if you have an idea, speak up, and we will listen! Everyone’s opinion matters and any suggestions are welcomed.

Our Diversity

We aim to foster a culture where individuals of all backgrounds feel confident in bringing their whole selves to work, feel included and their talents are nurtured, empowering them to contribute fully to our vision and goals.

Work is not a place; it is what you do…

We believe the future of work is about flexibility. Not everyone does their best work from an office, and not everyone wants to work from home exclusively. Our employees can choose to work flexibly either from home or in our office. To demonstrate our commitment to this, we have a fantastic Home Working Support Scheme! We want to ensure that those who do choose to work from home can still work in the best possible environment, and are not left out of pocket.

In a nutshell, we offer:

A one-off allowance of £500 for you to set up your home office
