We’re just over 14 years old, and in that time, we’ve accelerated from zero to £50m/year revenue, won local and national awards, and grown to 140-plus people. Our three websites—Drench, Tap Warehouse, and Only Radiators—are growing from strength to strength, and we’re looking for a Financial Planning and Analysis to join the team for 12 months of maternity cover.
You will be an analytically driven individual with a passion to prepare reports and assess the financial performance of the business that provides the Finance Director and Senior Management Team with insightful, value-adding financial support and analysis which facilitates effective decision making.
You will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis, with an ability to identify and report on key financial activities and trends and drive and implement change. You will need to be able to build and maintain financial models and forecasts which allow for a range of scenarios to be considered with the impact of different decisions as well as considering alternative and, or new business cases.
To be successful in this, you will need to be able to build collaborative relationships around the business allowing for a more holistic overview and to be seen as a value adding business partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining financial models and systems for annual budget and forecasts for P&L and cash flow
- Designing and managing a robust timetable for the budget and forecast processes that incorporates input from various departments around the business
- Lead the production of regular re-forecasts & scenarios, ensuring risks and opportunities are considered
- Collecting and analysing financial data to be used as foundation for financial models and systems
- Creation of a financial model to assess return on investment (ROI) for projects/ business investments
- Work with other departments to complete financial model and assess ROI on projects in order to present to the FC and FD
- Provide financial monitoring and reporting on investments and project spend, including tracking efficiency savings versus business targets
- Build strong and positive relationships within the organisation
- Assist the FC and FD with ad hoc reporting
Key Skills:
- Excellent business partnering skills, including influencing and ability to challenge at all levels when needed
- Take ownership of projects
- Experience of managing budget and forecast processes & timetables
- Strong analytical skills (using internal and external data)
- Ability to understand the strategic business goals of an organisation, looking beyond the numbers and understand the wider business context
- Financial system skills including excel and google sheets
- Experience of implementing P&L forecasting system would be an advantage
- Ability to work alone or within a team
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Education:

CIMA qualified or other relevant qualification desirable
